Tech basketball loses two starters for UT game
Texas Tech will face sixth-ranked Texas on Wednesday without its two starting forwards.
Darko Cohadarevic and D’walyn Roberts will miss the game, with Robert Lewandowski and Brad Reese likely to start in their places.

Cohadarevic was suspended Monday for what coach Pat Knight termed “behavior detrimental to the team.” Cohadarevic acted out during Monday’s practice, talking back to both Knight and an assistant coach.
Knight said the senior forward will be suspended “until he changes his attitude and becomes coachable.” Cohadarevic will not practice with the rest of the Red Raiders (14-5, 2-3 Big 12) today or join the team for its trip to Austin to face the Longhorns (17-2, 3-1 Big 12).
“I don’t want to see him until Thursday,” Knight said.
Roberts will not play because of increased pain caused by a bone bruise in his right foot. He began feeling pain during practice on Jan. 7 and has participated on a very limited basis in practice, playing through it during each of Tech’s conference games. He played just eight minutes in Tech’s 75-65 win against Oklahoma on Saturday, recording one block and two fouls.
At this point the pain has become too great for him to take the court, Knight said.
“He can’t do anything, so why play the kid?” Knight said. “It’s bad for him to try to play. We need to rest him and get him better.”
Roberts started each of Tech’s 18 games so far this season. Before Saturday he averaged 7.7 points and led the team with 6.8 rebounds.
Cohadarevic has started 17 of 18 games. He averages 7.2 points and 5.3 rebounds.
This will be Reese’s fourth career start. He was in the opening lineup for Tech’s 89-63 loss at Kansas and its wins against Iowa State and Oklahoma. Knight said earlier this year that Reese joined the starting lineup because he adds length and athleticism on defense.
Lewandowski started 19 games as a freshman last season and started at Kansas on Jan. 16. The 6-foot-10 center averaged 2.0 points and 2.2 rebounds per game, but had been seeing an increase in minutes since Big 12 play began.

sort of reminds of the Utt football team when they came down to austin to play this year. seems as though some of the techsters take ill before they play the MIGHTY ‘HORNS. Have no fear, Sergio Kindle is preparing for the NFL combine.
My prediction UT 94 tUt 71. I will be there at the game, cheering the horns and booing the lil pirates!!!!

maybe Pat could just cuss him out with his limited vocabulary….for motivation. How long before we get a real coach and not daddy’s little boy?

Techalum,Why don’t you go out and be the head coach for the Tech/UT game? I live in Kansas but have never stopped my loyalty to the Raiders! You’re probably one of those people who complain about
the empty seats USA and sit on your tush at home and watch it on t.v.!!!

Yep, this is the first sign that it is all over for the “Great” Knight reign at Texas Tech.
Bet the Beavis and Butthead admin already has Billy G. on the phone talking and emailing.

Wildcat Raider I think you are being a little foolish making fun of a school that’s rated in the top 3 versus Tech whose a has been. If it weren’t for nepotism, Tech might have a good coach.

1. Tech basketball lost its appeal after daddy potty mouth quit in the middle of the season, right after he got the all time wins record. You know the guy who demanded loyalty and commitment from his players and then quit half way through the season. Then they hand a Div. I job in a major conference to his son who had no prior head coaching experience.
2. Pat showed his intelligence by bragging about his fondness of “F-Bombing” his players less than a month after the football coach was let go for “abuse”.
3. Hard to support a .500 (at best) coach who lacks integrity.

integrity?

iheart posting durring “office hours” or are the hours in Austin at uT different. But then again you stated yesterday that it was 8-5…so are you now unemployed? Or do you just have classes on Monday Wednesday and Friday?

iheart You must be part of the e muscatels that are ruining this school. Either you are a part of the solution or you are part of the problem. Heven know Tech has problems thoughout the administration. Alumnineed to support the school. They do not need to support an inept administration that is pulling the school down.
As for my employment, I do not need nepotism.

tu has not one a single major game outside of Austin yet. Same old ref job story . It happens in football, it happens in basketball.

feaco, let me guess you’re a proof reader for illiterates r us. “heven”? “e muscatels”? “Alumnineed”? you’ll need nepotism to secure a real job one day. dad will take you back into the family salvage business.
and it’s your opinion the administration is inept. i know several thousand people that disagree with you. but of course, you always have that “teem leech” and the gathering of the “500″ to fall back on.
twatch, thanks for your concern. no, i’m not unemployed. actually, i work several shifts. yesterday was 8-5; today’s different; tomorrow different still.
i’m not stuck to the same fry basket shift like you.

I love it when the only discussion a person can make is to make a derogatory remark about somebody rather than take a position on an issue.
Tech is being hurt by the three muscatels, chancellor Kent (republican lobbyist) Hance, Guy Bailey and AD Myers. Tech needs to get rid of them and they can take Pat Knight and Alberto (I can’t remember) Gonzales with them.
