Home of Red Raider James gets added security

BY ROBIN PYLE/AVALANCHE JOURNAL

Celina Police have beefed up patrol around the home of Tech receiver Adam James this week amid Internet postings from angry fans revealing his address.

“We have patrol officers that are watching over the house along with the Collin County Sheriff’s County,” Celina Police Chief Joe Williams said.

He wouldn’t disclose details of security efforts. The department added extra patrols when the news broke Monday that Mike Leach was suspended as Texas Tech’s head football coach over an incident involving James’ son, a player on the team. Craig James is an ESPN analyst.

The university fired Leach Wednesday, angering many fans even more.

“Of course there’s concern,” Williams said. “We don’t anticipate anything happening, it’s certainly precautionary — that’s all.”

The James home is located in Collins County, which is near Dallas.

Collins County Lt. John Norton said “deputies are spending as much time in the area (of the James home) as they can.”

The James family is a bunch of losers. Craig James played for one of the most corrupt college teams to ever play ball when he was at SMU and the word is getting out about how big of a loser Adam is. Give them hell Raider Nation!!!

I think Leach got railroaded, but the James family is just a side show in this matter. It seems apparent that Leach had a target on his back and the Administration was just looking for a convenient excuse. The James family simply provided the excuse. Adam’s college football days are over and I’m sure Craig wishes he stayed the hell out of it. I can’t see Adam being welcome on any team and what coach in their right mind would want to put up with the parent.

Only a true idiot would post the home address of the James family… Mike got himself fired by trying to humilate a player. Maybe the player was a slacker… maybe he was spoiled or whatever…. Nevertheless Mike Leach could have simply sent the boy back to his dorm……… Don’t you think???

Keep up the good fight and pray for your admins to be run out of town.

It’s terrible that their address has been posted and the James family has to have all of this security. So many crazy people in the world, no telling what can happen. I hope Gerald Myers, Kent Hance & the guy in Dallas have extra security. It sounds like maybe they are the ones that caused al this mess!

LEACH WASN’T A GOOD COACH . ALL HE DID WAS THROW THE BALL A 100 TIMES A GAME. HE DIDN’T CARE ABOUT HIS DEFENSE AT ALL AND THAT’S WHY HE WOULD NEVER PLAY IN THE BIG GAME. MOST OF THE TECH PLAYERS DIDN’T LIKE HIS METHOD ANYWAY. GO TEXAS LONGHORNS

What Craig James did was just plain stupid!

Let’s don’t let his huge ego think he caused the firing of Leach, it was Hance and his “sewing club” of regents who are charged with running the TTU system, now they’ve ruined it!

Ok Maybe. But I am suspicious of the James Gang if they have hired a PR firm now. This is just the sort of news to slant sympathy towards the James and away from the central issues at hand.

This smells – sorts of like their son’s work ethic.

What a shame to fire coach Leach for just a looser dad and a girly son of his; oh no let me think it again, the Tech admins did not want to pay the 800K due to coach Leach so they use the looser dad and his girly kid as pawns, do you think? either way what a bunch of loosers are these James. Shame on ESPN.

Jason55 – thank you for your comments. Finally, we have common sense to balance out the irrational behavior and comments of overzealous Leach loyalists. Do you support TTU Football or former Coach Leach?

A concussion is a serious health matter. Last time I checked Leach is not a medically licensed physician. What would have happened if the boy died while being isolated for 3 hrs (or even for 15 minutes)? We would be discussing criminal charges and not just mistreatment of a student athlete. Come on, use some common sense here.

Time to move on – Go Red Raider Football! Good luck McNeil.

I heard that too…that is that there was always someone with him (James.) He apparently didn’t have much of a work ethic and was a pain in the patooty. Looks to me like any injured player, unless hospitalized, would have wanted to be there supporting his team. My guess…James and the players bad-mouthing Leach are 3rd string and didn’t get to play. BooHoo…

After reading these posts I am amazed by how many coaching experts and psychology majors we have on these boards. How could Coach Leach survived all this years without incident when, according to his detractors, he is an evil man? And when did college football turn into daisies & kisses and constant questioning about the way the coach made me feel? So let the players run the teams and when they get tired or whatever they can just go home. As the details of this case emerge, it looks more and more like wrongful termination with malicious intent. I hope Leach demands a public trial. It’s going to be great to watch!

Has anyone stopped and thought about the underlying cause here…I am talking about the “distractions” Leach hated for his team, but loved for himself that might have contributed to his ego and demise. Specifically, the 60 minutes interview, cover of
Texas Monthly, cameo in “Friday Night Lights” to name a few. It might seem that Leach began to read a few too many reviews about how great he is and forgot that even a head coach making $2M a year still has to answer to someone. Looks to me that he took his eye off the prize and began to believe the hype. Maybe if he had stayed humble, we would not be here today…just a thought!

Gerald – I am sorry you don’t like Tech, Lubbock or Covenant, but maybe you should be commenting on the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce website. You may find somebody over there who gives a damn. However, since this America and George W. Bush is no longer president, you can say whatever you like.

We need to figure out the best way to clean out the mess that Tech has in the administration building that governor perry has loaded down with republican has-been retards.

JC Foxtrot You need to read the NY Times article today about what the medical people said (The doctor that excused James).

By the way, anybody with a keyboard can obtain the address of just about anybody.

For instance, in check Kent (republican lobbyist) Hance, I found that he is living in a luxurious Tech owned house in Lubbock while he taking his homestead exmption on the house in Austin. If he is living in Lubbock can he take the exemption on a house that he does not live in? I am not a lawyer (Thank god), but if there is one out there let me know the answer. Thanks.

Jayson 55 – you still lack the mental ability to process facts. Leach did not try to humiliate the player. Adam James wanted to be on the field but complained about the sun hurting his eyes. Leach held him inclosed area the size of a two car garage with an ice maker inside. It was dark so not to hurt his eyes. Leach did not break any rules in the school’s code of conduct or try to publicly put Adam James in the spotlight. Adam James went to his family as any other university player would have if he thought that he was beeing mistreated but did nothing to rationalize the facts. Adam James did not personaly get Leach fired but he did hurt his name as a player, student, and human being.

All these supporters of the idiots in the Tech administration are fat, balding old Lubbockians who have never lived anywhere else, and who haven’t been outside the county line in twenty years. They always support the silly old fa¨¨ts who run the show around here. Of course they’ll attack Leach, but notice how it’s usually for his ACCOMPLISHMENTS… they think it’s bad to have been practically canonized on 60 minutes, they think it’s awful to be on the cover of Texas Monthly…..
so don’t pay any attention to these stupid old losers… they’re just taking up for their own kind when they defend old drunk Kent Hance, and FIVE HUNDRED year old Gerald Meyers.

Results prove that coach Leach has his priorities correct. The coach has the highest graduation rate in the country for his players…….now that is good stuff. The james gang only knows how to tear things down and lie (SMU & ESPN) proof in point. TTU deserves more from thier leaders than this gas attach from Gerald, Kent (explains the problems the Republican party is having, with help like this)and Beetle Bailey.
