My wife and I drove up from New Braunfels to see this disappointing performance and, after the game I kept trying to figure out WHY these boys break down as badly as they do in games that mean everything for an advancement of team, Texas Tech, etc. and , after getting back to my daughter and son-in-law’s house and while changing into something more comfortable, one of my grandsons, George (age 6) put it all into perspective for me and Coach Leach, to wit: How was your day, George? Oh, it was okay, Papa, how was yours? Not very good ’cause the Aggies kicked our rear-ends. The Raiders played very badly! George (after a pause), Well, they probably didn’t get a nap–I don’t play very good if I don’t get a nap.
So, there it is, at last and finally, I have my answer!! Never again will I have to question why my Red Raiders step on their —–! Boys, Coach Leach, Ruffin’–go take a nap!!
I think the crowd deserves an F. I sat in section 107, I think I was the only standing and yelling in the first half. I was even asked to sit down when the defense was on the field. As for the rest of the stands, I was extremely disappointed in the lack of noise produced. I think the loudest the crowd ever got is when Doege took the field for the first time.
The Aggies’ no huddle offense was a big factor in taking the crowd out of the game. Usually the crowd gets really wound up about the time that the opposing offense breaks the huddle. They were resetting so fast i think the crowd didn’t really know what to do. Not that it’s an excuse, just a factor that contributed to it.
No longer allowing the fans to vote, huh? I guess you’re afraid you’ll hear something you don’t like.

How loud could a crowd be in a game like that?
There was certainly nothing to cheer for. but a lot to boo for.
Hey, maybe we could be the Philadelphia of college football, & start booing all the time?!

Here here! I think this young George fellow should be our new defensive coordinator!

Clearly, the failure in this game rests with the fans. It’s always our fault.
