Report Card:TTU vs. KSU

    Don,
I guess it’s a matter of perspective whether the crowd deserved a “D”. I was pleasanty surprised by how many fans made it out in the bad weather to cheer on the Red Raiders. I was also impressed how they kept on making noise when K-State had third down situations.

Many of the fans did not dress for a cold weather game and had to bail out to keep from freezing, but I didn’t think the fans deserved to be bashed in your artilcle with a “D” at all. I would have given them a “B-” and written an article on how well they performed considering the circumstances.

Of coarse, someone from the cozy press box may have a different perspective.

I’d give the crowd a C at best; sometimes loud on TV, but usually not, and why in the world would Tech schedule fall break coinciding with homecoming weekend? That is so dumb!

I would give the crowd a C- and the weather man an F!
The forecast was off nearly 20 degrees and many people didn’t dress for the 38 degree wind chill.
Also, who in the administration thinks these students need more time off. As the parent of two Tech students I would like to see More, not Less, education for my dollar. I agree with Ralph, scheduling any break at Homecoming is really stupid.
By the way I stayed to the very end, including the Matador song. I noticed many of those fans who stayed were the ones who make the most noise anyway. Get off your seats and make some noise, this isn’t a chess match. Show up early and stay to the end!

I would have to agree with your statement. I am a Tech Alumni, graduated in 2004, and when I go to the games these days people in the crowd look at me funny when I start making noise. You know like when we are on Defense and the team encourages the crowd to get into it, I start yelling and standing up and people behind me say, “Sit down, we can’t see”. Or people in front of me look at me funny for yelling. When I went to Tech everyone yelled and made noise. The fans just aren’t the same these days. These days I prefer to stay at home and watch the game on my big screen so that I don’t offend anyone at the game by standing up and cheering for my team.

My wife and I both enjoy making lots of noise at the games. (Her whistle has been known to temporarily deafen small children) We both graduated in the late 70′s and still love supporting Tech football. We have season tickets and make an 800 mile round trip to every game. If people are offended by cheering I suggest THEY stay home. We need louder fans. If anyone thinks fans can’t make a difference at a game they must believe that the players are hearing impaired.
    Go Tech!

WHERE ARE YOUR SEATS AT, IM GUESSING THE WEST SIDE

I SIT ON THE EAST SIDE, AS CLOSE AS YOU COULD GET TO THE STUDENTS AND THERE ARE PEOPLE AROUND ME THAT JUST SIT THERE AND DONT MAKE ANY NOISE…..IF YOUR GOING TO DO THAT WHY GO TO THE GAME

LATELY I HAVE STARTED TO WONDER IF THERE SOME KIND OF WAY TO GET EVERYONE TO BRING SOME KIND OF A BELL TO THE GAME…..FOR EXAMPLE THE SADDLE HAVE THEIR BELLS THAT THEY RING THROUGH OUT THE GAME…..IF THAT WERE TO HAPPEN I THINK IT WOULD MAKE TECH ONE OF THE NOISIEST STADIUMS IN THE COUNTRY
