Carvalho wins opening match
TULSA, Okla – Texas Tech sophomore Raony Carvalho started his season Thursday with a three-set win over Tennessee’s Boris Conkic in the first round of the ITA All-American Tennis Championships.
Carvalho, the nation’s 25th-ranked singles player, beat No. 20 Conkic 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. Today he’ll face 13th-ranked Justin Kronauge of Ohio State in the round of 32.
