ESPN’s GameDay headed to Austin for Tech-UT game
The Texas Tech athletics department announced Sunday that ESPN’s College GameDay show will be broadcast from Austin leading up to Saturday night’s Big 12 Conference opener between Tech and second-ranked Texas.
College GameDay, which will air live beginning at 9 a.m. CDT Saturday from a site to be determined on the University of Texas campus, made its first trip to Lubbock last season, when No. 5 Tech beat No. 1 Texas, 39-33. The show also was broadcast from Austin in 2005, when the Longhorns beat the Red Raiders, 52-17, in a matchup of 6-0 teams.
Both teams are 2-0 heading into Saturday’s game, scheduled for 7 p.m. at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The game will be televised on ABC.

Since Tech is a commuter school and the majority of the students are from outside of West Texas, doesn’t that make you a non-showering, trailer park dweller as well?

I’d also look at the record since Leach has been there. Only one blowout (in ‘05 w/VY) & the rest are close (by less than 10 points).
Just like I tell the Sooners I know, until you have to play in Norman or Austin you don’t know what it’s like!

Texas fans SHOULD be a little miffed by getting beat by Texas Tech last year. When you recruit 4 and 5 star athletes… and get beat by 2 and 3 star athletes… that’s gotta hurt REALLY BAD.
If the record is 43 to 15…. that is 15 times you got your butts handed to you by a team with “supposedly” less talent.
Leach might actually be the best coach in America because he actually has to coach up the players he recruits.
