Great job of play 17 minutes of a 40-minute game and guarding Blake Griffin.

This has got to be the biggest joke of a team Texas Tech has fielded in 50 years. Coaching? We don’t need no stinkin’ coach.

Oklahoma is a very, very good team.

Pat is still reeling from dad’s lack of recruiting. He WILL have better teams in the future, and i believe it shows in the recruits he is getting.

And Austin Johnston (OU) played just 117 miles up in Amarillo! And almost won a state championship.Another screwup from DADDY KNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the Amarillo and surrounding area volleyball team (power house) players that are never recruited!!!!!!!!!!!

I was at the game. Pat Knight was pacing, waiving arms, and hollering instructions at the beginning of the game. After OU went on a run, I believe he may have taken an early flight home. OU’s Coach Capel hardly moved from his chair except at time-outs. It was so evident that a kitten had come to town to take on a lion. Even when the score was 23-23, anyone who had ever seen a basketball game knew what was about to happen. A seasoned and intelligent leader who had earned his stripes was about to send a guy from the lucky gene pool on his way with his tail tucked between his legs. The Bobby Knight era at TTU will prove to be the one of the worst long term affects that has ever happened in the sports history of a wonderful school. Single cover Blake Griffin to prevent a low percentage outside shooting team from scoring??? Give me a break.

With the defense that Tech plays, they could have put all 5 starters on Griffin and he would have still scored 40!

I don’t know. Some of you guys are really hard on a coach in his first full season. Is that a new standard? Is it because his last name is Knight? What’s next? One game critiques? Then minute by minute analysis? And, have any of you ever coached (Pee Wee League doesn’t count).

    Eric,

Are you saying single cover of one of the best college basketball players in the US is acceptable coaching? Let me answer your reference to Pee Wee league coaching with this comment. I had my 12 year old grandson with me. About the middle of the 2nd quarter, he said, ” They are not double teaming #23. He will eat them alive.” He lives over 400 mile from Norman, Okla. He does not see Blake Griffin and all the praise of Blake Griffin on TV every night. Now, what are your credentials for your observations? I have money that says we will never hear your reply.

What are anyone’s creditentials for making an observation? This is a site for expressing opinions, even if no one agrees with them. I have no problem with you not caring about what I wrote. And, my point was that Pat Knight is in his first full year. Should we pour boiling water on him already?

Joyous lends credibility to the exact point I have been making for years, and that is that Bob Knight was a horrible coach, in part because he was a hideous recruiter. For a guy with the all time wins to be so inept at recruiting is actually quite telling — and evidence of yet another Gerald Myers bonehead move.

Stan “the Man” Bonewitz could turn all of this around. He is the next “It” coach and former player. He won’t use Tech as a spring board to other jobs like most coaches and he is young and dynamic enough to relate to kids in any part of the state and country. What are your thoughts on that? Stan as the next head coach of your Red Raiders!!!!!!!
