Gerald Myers was a very poor basketball coach and even worse athletic director. Who hired this guy? He has to go!
The current situation of firing Coach Leach smells of politics. Remeber Governor Perry removing Regent Griffith? Sending the Texas Attorney General to Lubbock to represent TTU smells rotten to me! I smell a RAT, but just can’t connect all of the dots yet!
Mike Leach may not be perfect, but he brought respect to TTU and he has a good graduation rate of his football players. We need to fire the entire TTU administration, bring Mike Leach back as Athletic Director AND HEAD COACH!

B….naming a street after Leach isn’t a sure keeper measure….look at Phil Fulmer & Tennessee, the street the fronts their football stadium is named after him.

My father in law was introduced to Myers at a Lady Raider game once, pompous jerk wouldn’t even shake his hand. Not only is he a pompus jerk, he is a liar, he told the media that Leach’s contract was being negotiated when it wasn’t and Leach’s agent verified it. Tech needs to change the Will Rogers statue so that the horse’s rear point towards Gerald Myers’ office instead of College Station. Better yet, someone should paste a pic of Myers on there as well.

The worst comment I noticed in the end of all this obvious ludisy is when Hance stated ” when leach wins a natoinal title then the buy out clause will come out” i d i o t !!!!!!! where has he been before 2000? I sure hope that the boosters chime in soon?
Myers has always been ego thick since he was a player. If they truly want the best for TT then shut up and resign! there are ways to guard the program and noy loose leach plus turn off all of the good coaches out there that are watching this all play out in the media.

The only way to put a bandade on the damadge now is to Fire Meyers. We do not need a AD any more and we could save his salery. Meyers is the thorn in this mess. All he does is try to move games off.

Well, I’ve read aboput all of this blog, and was a student at Tech when Myers was the basketball coach – “HE AIN’T NOTHING SPECIAL” and he needs to go. His treatment of James Dickey mentioned above is a good example.

And now having the perspective of being out of school for many years, I am embarrassed by the way “Gerald” is handling this mess. He needs to be put out to pasture or risk losing all the season ticket holders and folks like myself that come to town for games. I’m currently in Pennsylvania, and let me tell you, it is not easy to get there from here. But I do, and with Mike, it was always something we looked forward to doing. My daughter flys in from CA, I have to two kids there now, but the trips will stop if Myers screws this one up. Goodbye dollars, goodbye loyalty.

Oh, I will still be loyal to the team, just not in Lubbock. I’m looking forward to a trip to Austin instead.

The Dallas Morning News is reporting that Hance said that they were going to continue with Leach coaching with Leach for the next 2 years of his contract. But the problem is still Myers.

Myers should have offered Leach this contract last year and kept putting it off saying that he was waiting on this year to see the results. OK, well they offer the contract because he had to but with clauses that makes the contract worthless no matter how much money they offer. He is trying to undermine Leach and run him out of town to bring in somebody else and the contract, if agreed to by Leach would only set him up to get fired for some stupid Meyers reason.

Myers is a backstabber. Just ask James Dickey. He had Bobby Knight hired before Dickey was fired. FACT. I’ve met the guy before. He’s a jerk. Has anybody noticed that nobody, whether you like Leach or not, is defending Meyers and his capability to be a real AD? if ther is a Meyers fan out there other than the stupid Aggie76 in this blog, speak up.

Leach is a good fit for Tech. He delivered results. And if we, the media or fans want to compare to OU or TX, then we will need to treat him like the coaching staff’s at those schools. No matter your opinion of Leach, he has delivered good results. And at this point, do you really want to bring in a new coach…like Tubberville? Tubberville is a good coach but not for Tech.

Leach > Meyers.
