Get ready Tech fans……….. we’re going to be back at 25-35 thousand fans in the stadium watching a mediocre team in the future.

Don’t ever think it isn’t about money……. I said it before in another blog and I’ll say it again…… not hearsay, not opinion…… fact…… if it were not for the money our football team …. ( of which Mike Leach has happened to be the coach)…. we would not have embarked on the facilities expansions, brought in lots of money to the economy of Lubbock, raised the season ticket prices and FILLED THE STADIUM FOR TEAMS LIKE SE LA, NW LA, UTAH ST. SMU and UTEP…. that’s right 51 thousand fans for those games instead of the 25 -35k in the 80’s and 90’s.

Let’s all remember it is not Myers money, it is not Hance’s money and heck it isn’t even Tech’s money…. it is our money the FANS and supporters of the program that generates the dollars!

It IS about money….. pure economics and don’t be foolish enough to think it isn’t.

Period!

meyers give mike 15 million for 5 years
mike give meyers a no compete clause which includes all d-1 schools…
meyers give mike 1 million for each national championship he wins.
mike give meyers buyout clause of 500k
meyers give mike a all guaranteed contract-no dismal

What happened between April and December? Why didn’t Tech extend Coach’s contract when he asked for it in April? Where was Tech’s loyalty to Leach? What were they holding out for? What do they want, blood? Leach has been first class all the way.
Good luck Coach. We’ll miss you. Tell Myers and his cronies to take a hike. They should bone up on Negotiating 101.

I think Myers is not happy with Leach and his agents; because Leach’s agents have asked that Leach become asst. AD of Football, (to be over the football operations). This probably made Myers mad and so being, Myers put the 4 clauses in the contract and the deadline, knowing Mike won’t sign it.
Myers will never fire Pat Knight because of his relationship with Bob Knight.
So here is the deal – Myers will keep Pat Knight (even if he loses every year) and he will run off Mike Leach.
There has got to be a way, to revise one of the clauses from; “must have permission” to “Myers must be notified”.

anyway to mail Meyers? God the students at Tech should be hounding this guys office with emails etc etc….I mean if you lov Tech football you know why they have had success…regardless if you think he shouldnt have visited other schools, its abobut winning and w/o Leach things get really scary….I love winning, Leach is why we win, Keep Leach, pay him whatever he wants. Period.
