Oklahoma walk-on transferring to Southeastern
DURANT, Okla. (AP) _ A walk-on football player for the Oklahoma Sooners is transferring to his hometown school.
Quarterback Bo White of Durant has enrolled at NCAA Division II Southeastern Oklahoma State and plans to play for the Savage Storm.
White had moved into a dormitory at Oklahoma and attended two practices, but said he mostly just stood around during the workouts. He says he didn’t want to do that for two years.
He will receive a scholarship to play for Southeastern.
Oklahoma spokesman Kenny Mossman says it’s not unusual for walk-on players to transfer during preseason practices. He says it’s likely OU will grant White a release to play for Southeastern.
